Trip to Hoffmans dam

Whilst staying in Naseby for a hockey tournament, Dave Patchett, myself and Chris Laing walked up in the snow to Hoffman’s dam. The dam was frozen, but not enough to skate on.

Hockey trip to Naseby

I helped organise a social hockey trip to Naseby this winter. We were greeted with an awesome snowy experience on arriving in Naseby, including snow during one of our games! My should was too munted to play, so I refereed it instead.

Big ass insect!

Chris Laing spotted this giant flying insect whilst we were walking along the Matukituki track in Mount Aspiring National Park. It was around 10 - 12 cm long. I assume it’s a Dragonfly but am not sure - if you can confirm or provide more information about it, please leave a comment below!

Pearl flat

Chris Laing and I camped at Pearl flat which sits below Mount Aspiring. Since no one else was stupid enough to go camping with the sand flies, we had the whole area to ourselves :) The sand flies weren’t a major nuisance and seemed to avoid stinging us so long as we smothered ourselves in regular dollops of deet.

Beasts in the Easton Cup

I played for the Dunedin Beasts in the Easton Cup. I also dragged our superstar ring-in Jenel Bode to play with us :) Unfortunately she got injured and only played one and a bit games :( We got totally thumped in every game. Was lots of fun though and I can’t wait for the rest of the season!
