Manorburn dam history
I’ve been fishing through my families old photo albums and found the following photos of the Manorburn dam from the past that some of you may find interesting.

From left: Lynn McArthur, Ronald Hellyer, Pamela Hopkins, John Hellyer, Ken Hellyer and Robyn Reid on the central basin of the Manorburn dam in 1954. The hand writing is courtesy of my Nana.

From left is Ronald Hellyer, Ken Hellyer, some random guy, Phylis Hellyer and John Hellyer on the Manorburn dam in 1952.

Ken Hellyer. I think this is the Manorburn dam, but I'm not entirely sure which part. It may have been somewhere else, but I'm not sure where that would be. I'm guessing this is some time around 1970.

This is my brother Scott Hellyer on the tiny ice cube they called a rink which sat beside the Manorburn dam. This would have been around 1984 I think.

Mum and Dad's 35th Wedding Anniversary
Some photos from my parents 35th Wedding Anniversary. Thanks to Scott and Marthah for organising everything and eventually remembering to invite me
The lighting was utter crap so the photos are a bit blurry.
My Mum (Joan Hellyer) and Dad (Ken Hellyer) posing for the camera.
The cake. It was a carrot one and tasted damn nice!
Siblings: Robyn Reid, Ken Hellyer, David Hellyer and John Hellyer. Or as I know them, Aunty Robyn, Dad, Uncle David and Uncle John.

QE2 park in Christchurch
Family trip to QE2 park in Christchurch some time in the 1980′s.

My first experience driving a go kart. Unfortunately my feet couldn't touch the pedals so Dad needed to ride with me!

Pine Tree at 4 Clermiston Ave
The neighbours gave my Dad permission to “trim some branches” from their pine tree while they were away for the day. My Dad took a rather liberal understanding of the term “trim”!
