Annddd, MORE DNS problems My sites are all up, but every sub-domain on the main network domain is broken

@danmilward Everything should be back to normal now. Whew! Should run a little quicker too as we've been upgraded to a bigger box

Ohhh, not only moved to a newer server, but a faster one too thanks to @uberhost support

30 mins from reporting server error to being upgraded to a bigger faster server thanks to @uberhost support!

Thanks to Rick from @uberhost, 90% of my sites are now back online and upgraded to a brand new server Thanks Rick!

@danmilward Our site is gonna be down for a bit. Catastrophic server failure. Moving servers as I type this. I am grumpy bumpy!!!!

Dangit! It seems all my websites are malfunctioning due to some sort of catastrophic server failure

@andreasnrb Thanks. I'll use the built in function now, but will keep that in mind in case I need to use a raw SQL query in future.

@andreasnrb Thanks. Do you have any idea how much load that would put on the server?

@andreasnrb Actually, an SQL query might be a bit rough too if the site had thousands upon thousands of posts perhaps.

I could use get_posts() and just yank out every single post, but that would be horridly inefficient. I need something a lot faster.

Do any smarty pants out there know what the most efficient way to calculate how many blog posts are present in a WordPress powered site is?

Replacement for WordPress plugin interface for multi-site. Opinions? … http://bit.ly/rgQbOZ

@andrea_r I'll put on my list of things to do. I'd need to think some more about how to do it. Current version is just a site specific hack.

@andrea_r Do you think I should turn it into a usable plugin? It wouldn't work on anything but my site right now.

@SiobhanPMcKeown My guess is that it's the specific HTML you are using. Perhaps pastebin it so we can try it out ourselves.

@milo317 I'll send an email through in about an hour with an explanation of how it works etc. If it's up to scratch, I'll blog it too.

@milo317 It doesn't work with Dropbox, you need to host them on the server itself. Support for that could easily be added though.

@milo317 I just did a live test of the theme updater and it worked sweet as I've built a plugin for WP which handles the server side too.

@WraithKenny WP seems to be caching it weird and not updating the cache when I hit "Check again". Odd. But it seems to work fine.
