Drinking Ubuntu whilst on my Ubuntu … https://plus.google.com/110903788122203327516/posts/am9RFScsJyB

@IanTLS Apparently I can boot OSX with a 64 bit kernel, so I'll try that and see what happens to the results.

@IanTLS (almost) brand new MacBook Air 13" with 4 GB RAM and Core i5 1.7 GHz.

@IanTLS Nah, OSX is almost brand new too. Plus I barely installed any apps on it when I did use it.

Simple code to add numbered classes to widgets in WordPress … http://konstruktors.com/blog/wordpress/3615-add-widget-order-css-class-sidebar/ via via @konstruktors

@howbazaar I'm impressed how snappy it feels. It's much smoother than Mac OSX.

@howbazaar Props to you and your colleagues. Working stunningly well on my MacBook Air. Zero problems so far (that weren't easily solvable).

Woop woop woop!!!!! Norwegian work visa acquired I'm no longer going to be ejected from the country, yay

Anyone else out there on Ubuntu 12.04? I'm loving it. Best OS I've used yet.

@scottkclark I'm keen to hear what you settle on in the end. I have similar requirements.

@hanlasse I just stumbled across that now. Dunno if you heard my "whoa" when I loaded it up.

RT @jonohutchison: Can't believe Zuckerberg bought Instagram for $1 billion. Pretty sure I got that app for free

@markjaquith @zamoose Yet more reasons I will probably never own an iPhone.

@zamoose @markjaquith Aren't there USB to "stupid iDevice" adaptors out there?

@bgardner 1140px isn't wide enough to be a big problem. It's more that the much larger sizes I could see the images being problematic.

@bgardner My concern would be that when you go too big, you end up needing two sets of images, one for giant screens, one for smaller ones.

@bgardner How far do you intend to stretch your themes out to? I'd be inclined to stop at 1600px max to avoid image size problems.

I must be smart coz I don't need a fancy app. to take crappy photos, I can do that with any camera!

@pearsonified @bgardner I get pissy if site fails at 1000px. Even with two 1920px wide screens I still only have my browser at 1000px wide.

@pearsonified @bgardner Flexy is okay. Forcing me view at >960px is not.

@danhgilmore Everquest? I don't understand the reference. That appears to be a game from what I can tell..

Why do people get so excited taking crappy photos? I was doing that in the 1980's with a REAL crappy instamatic camera … then I upgraded!

@nacin That would be AWESOME!!!!!! I feel sorry for poor BackPress, left to wither and die.

I appear to be migrating back to Twitter from Google+. This disappoints me

@donncha I'm surprised you can be bothered replying to most of them. Looks painful.

@Ipstenu @Rarst My old uni paid Oracle millions to build a CMS. Ridiculous since I think Drupal would have been much cheaper and better.

@Ipstenu @Rarst I'd have thought banks would never write their own software.

@andrea_r @ryancduff @conorpegypt $100 for installation, configuration and a stock theme sounds reasonable to me.

@Rarst My main complaint about others stuff is an excess of options. Ironically a criticism I could level at myself in the past.

@Rarst Difference is that mine have less/no options. Attempting to simplify crap instead of make it more complex.

@Rarst I have a bunch of plugins I need to release at some point. All replicate existing plugins

@humphreybc Vitamin C and lots of water would help more than anything else I think.

@harrietvsworld Great way to drive traffic to your site. I've inadvertently pulled in quite a bit of traffic by doing guest blog posts.

@harrietvsworld Did they ask you to write for them? Or did you just send it in?

@Ipstenu I think people underestimate how risky it is running your own install. More to go wrong than people realise IMO.

@harrietvsworld Another potential place to send blog posts … http://indietravelpodcast.com/about/. I met them a couple of years ago at a conference in NZ.

@donncha You poor guy. Just reading support requests for WP Supercache. So many ridiculous questions and suggestions.

Starting to think dumbing down WordPress is problematic. Many should be on http://WordPress.com, not running their own install.

I have a total of 29 blog posts scheduled for posting over the next two months. Ma blog is gonna be busy

Sign #1 you are spoilt for weather … wake up to rain outside. Response is "Holy crap, it's raining! Must go for walk to experience it!"

@Mamaduka Wow. I thought I knew WordPress inside out. I wonder what other stuff I haven't noticed before.

@no_fear_inc Beats me. Maybe it was added around the same time support for adding plugins from the repo. was added?

@matthancocknz Seems like a strange way to upload a plugin. Amazed I never saw it before.

@Rarst Weird. I had no idea. Someone sent me an error message from when they uploaded a plugin. Turned out error was from plugin uploader!

Dang, WordPress has an "upload plugin" feature now. Anyone know when this was added? It appears to be in WordPress v3.3 so not even recent.

@cgrymala @JJJ @Viper007Bond In the future, internet access will presumably be ubiquitous.

@JJJ @Viper007Bond I think avoiding the internet is considerably harder than avoiding TV.

@andreaglorioso There is no maybe in it. Jake Davis would not end up in a "federal prison" so the post makes no sense.

@andreaglorioso Did you realise it's fake? It refers to "Federal prison"

@beads1005 Yeah, I realised how silly that statement was earlier. Clearly just some muppet looking for attention.

@AnonymousDown @mikko Lol, I didn't even notice the FEDERAL bit when I read it. Thanks for the heads up.

@JJJ @nathanrice I suspect the main problem with implementing OOP everywhere is that it's too hard for n00bs to figure out.

@JJJ @nathanrice I'm mostly preferring the OOP approach, but sometimes it's just easier to grok if it's done procedurally.
