@five15design I used to do a lot of calligraphy as a kid and grew an interest in typography from that.

@five15design Definitely not sarcasm. I love typography. I'm unfortunately not very good at it though.

@vaultpress A higher fee would be okay, say US$40/month. But definitely can't afford standard fee per site for multi-site setup.

@five15design Thanks for suggesting "Helvetica". It is an excellent movie and was well worth 80 mins of my time.

@alanmairson Thanks. That \sums up what I've figured out so far too. BackupBuddy is good. VaultPress is better, but you pay more for it.

Question @photomatt : Did you realise @bradleypotter was asking about @VaultPress? I just realised that wasn't mentioned in the tweet.

@bradleypotter Based on @photomatt 's response I'd favour BackupBuddy for most sites due to the cost advantage. It's not as feature rich tho

@vaultpress For a multi-site WP install do we just pay once? Or for EVERY site on that install? cc @bradleypotter @alanmairson

@alanmairson I 1st tried BackupBuddy yesterday so don't have much to compare it to. Seems awesome so far. Haven't tried using it with S3 yet

@bradleypotter Any idea if a multi-site installation counts as more than one site? If not, then it's not so bad :)

RT @AlanMairson: @scottros Got my @vaultpress Golden Ticket yesterday & had a seamless backup. Wish I could say as much about various S3 …

@robmuldoon Nice to see you back in the land of the living! Will you be running for parliament again?

Anyone know of a WordPress plugin or theme which allows you to upload images via it's options page?

@williamsba I haven't tried their dedicated boxes, but the service from @uberhost for their VPS's is awesome.

Mental note: Proof-read before posting on @alicam 's blog. Ended up posting the opposite of what I intended to!

@wptavern What do you mean? You can definitely add a category dropdown to the WP3.0 nav system - or perhaps I am misunderstanding?

Dang it, I need to remember to edit my subject titles when posting to wp-hackers!

@danmilward No, it's not a plugin, although I might turn it into one eventually. It's currently just part of my sites theme.

RT @Jghazally: #wordpress I need to talk to some1 about best practices for Plugins that include templates ,, who should I talk to?

I wish more designers would provide as much typographic info. with their PSD's as @five15design does. Makes my life a lot easier.

@matthancocknz Windows. I'm currently trying Handbrake as per advice from @jsauni. Seems to be working well so far.

Any opinions on what the best (free) software for ripping a DVD to AVI is?

@Skitzzo I think you misunderstood my last tweet as your reply doesn't make sense.

@Skitzzo Some would claim #thesiswp has been 100% GPL compliant all along, none would claim #thesiswp has been 100% GPL until now.

@Skitzzo Being 100% GPL and being 100% GPL compliant are two separate things.

RT @flashingcursor: I can't wait to see the next tweet from @pearsonified read: SUCKERS! I was kidding. #thesiswp

@bradleypotter I don't think anyone is claiming otherwise. That still doesn't make #thesiswp 100% GPL though.

@photomatt Since Thesis is only split GPL, perhaps you should use it for just a day? Someone is sure to port your theme to Thesis for free.

RT @danmilward: @pearsonified good move - still doesnt make you one of the 3 most influential WP people though ;)

RT @photomatt: People are asking if I'm going to switch my site over to #thesiswp — if it goes fully GPL, and someone helps me. :)

RT @pearsonified: Friends and lovers: Thesis now sports a split GPL license. Huzzah for harmony! #thesiswp

@StaceyClermont Not telling. I'm not sure if it's a mission critical vulnerability. But I certainly managed to mess things up a bit.

Managed to hack my own account on a very popular website. Kinda disturbing how easy it was. Security report filed with their admins.

@JellyBeen I've offered to help @wptavern with integrating WP theme with vBulletin theme, but seems Jeff isn't interested.

Just got WordPress widgets working in an SMF forum :) I want to try it with phpBB or vBulletin but haven't found anyone interested yet.

RT @ptahdunbar: I vote that @wptavern should be included in the #WordPress Planet feed. If you agree please RT! at #wcchicago cc: @photo …

@auxanocreative Good point. Those could be useful for static sites too. I'll look at adding that in as an option for a future version.

@ShutUpFoodies I've never heard of the_author_firstname() before. Try the_author_meta() instead.

@ShutUpFoodies That last suggestion does not allow you to keep the original author names. It just makes sure that SOMETHING appears there.

@ShutUpFoodies If author issue isn't cause by theme, then use WP exporter, then reimport and assign posts to a new author during the import.

@ShutUpFoodies If it does it with news posts too, then it's because you don't have the author template tag in your theme.

@ShutUpFoodies Possibly. I need to know what the question is before I can try to answer it though!

@SocialSammy I told him I'd probably have something for him last night. By "Probably" I meant "Definitely".

Hmmm, I told someone I'd have their theme ready by this evening. It's now 11:51pm and I have at least 3-4 hours work left :( :( :(

@StephenCronin I saw your first response. Thanks for that. If something's in moderation then I probably can't see it yet.
