@browserstack I have no problems at all. BrowserStack runs ninja fast for me. Very impressed with the service.

@scottbasgaard Ahh, I see. I've used it on my phone before with no problems so figured it would be okay down where you are.

New WordPress plugin for adding unique custom headers … http://geek.ryanhellyer.net/products/unique-headers/

@hanlasse It's a Chrome application, so technically it does, yeah. But you wouldn't know it from looking at it.

@hanlasse You are missing something here. CMD+Tab would still work since the application runs in it's own window.

@hanlasse How does a standalone app behave any different to a Chrome app?

@hanlasse Of course, I also miss things a lot coz it's not very good at remind me

@hanlasse I just use Scratchpad in Chrome. Works great, and I can ignore when I need to. And it can be used for SOOO many other things.

@dinicmilan Help is always appreciated. It's hard to get proper input on things it seems.

@dinicmilan Feel free to find more flaws. It's useful having stuff like this pointed out Thanks for your help.

@dinicmilan That's odd. I knew that too. Chalk that up as an error from copy and pasting readme files

RT @Bendicksongreen: I said to my partner, "Please get me a newspaper." "Don't be silly," he replied, "you can borrow my iPad."That spid …

@scottbasgaard I see there's another one coming up on August 14th. Might be an appropriate time for me to go on holiday to Bergen perhaps.

RT @kwsanders: My son just told me that he found Chuck Norris' email address. It is gmail@chucknorris.com

RT @markjaquith: I picked a bad day to sleep in. Made my sign for #wcsf. http://twitter.com/markjaquith/status/216596401713459200/photo/1

@scottbasgaard Have you been going to any Bergen meetups? I'd like to head over some time to visit.

@dinicmilan Thank you. You are now credited on the plugin page … http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/comment-errors/other_notes/

@dinicmilan Thanks. I actually thought of that on the way home and was about to go check if I'd added that or not. Clearly I haven't!

@mikeschinkel @EricMann The problem is rather large though and I think it requires a dev. willing to do the hard yards to implement it.

@mikeschinkel In SMF, you just add ?theme=1 to the admin panel URL to use the default theme.

@mikeschinkel You can always have a default admin theme that you can force through if you need to.

@EricMann I would be more vocal in stating it if I had the foggiest idea how to do it myself (I don't)

@mikeschinkel Using the WordPress theming system for the admin panel would be a good start IMO.

RT @rhyswynne: Always amuses me that Germany has a player that I pronounce goatse.

@mikeschinkel I'd put the entire admin panel setup in that basket, not just the menus.

@EricMann I've seen it three times now I think. All times were due to incorrect assumptions on the presence of the ?> tag at file end.

@EricMann Yup. It wasn't a WordPress attack though, just a generic PHP attack that didn't work properly since the JS wasn't executing.

@mikeschinkel I've previously hacked around the issue by redirecting based on query vars. Not exactly an elegant solution thought.

@mikeschinkel That's a very confusing way to explain it, but I think I follow now. I've experienced similar problems previously.

@mikeschinkel Can you point me in the direct of what it does other than delete some menu items and add some custom post-types?

@mikeschinkel I find that a little hard to GROK. Gonna install the plugin to see what it actually does.

@mikeschinkel What are you actually wanting to do to the admin menu system in WordPress?

Please keep the compliments flowing @Ipstenu. It's not often my ego gets stroked like this

RT @Ipstenu: Some days I see a plugin and wonder 'WTH?' other days I go 'Oh! Me wants!' … now available in repository http://bit.ly/KqpUCG

@DeFries @ipstenu It's called "Comment Errors". I'll be uploading it to the repository in about 20 minutes.

@Ipstenu All I found were people bitching about the lack of a solution and/or posting core hacks to fix it.

@Ipstenu I was actually wondering if there was already such a plugin out there. But my Google'ing showed nought.

RT @Ipstenu: Some days I see a plugin and wonder 'WTH?' other days I go 'Oh! Me wants!' Today @ryanhellyer made a cool one

@Ipstenu Ahh, that one You can thank the wonderful Norwegian government for that. They requested it this afternoon.

@Ipstenu To be honest, I have no idea which plugin you are referring to … off to check.

@carlhancock I despise low res. screens but love lightweight computers. The combination currently doesn't work well together unfortunately.

@carlhancock I've been think that if they release a retina version of it then I might switch.

@nakrissimo Later that night? Or later as in another week? Either way, I'm keen to hear about it

@nakrissimo I'd also need to find something to talk about. I mostly want to go uber super nerd overload, but that puts people to sleep

@nakrissimo I could get up and present something myself, but people are going to very rapidly get sick of me if I keep doing that!

@nakrissimo Not yet. Any chance you are keen to present something? A "non-Metronet" person would be nice for once

@nakrissimo Damn, I was hoping you were going to bring an S3 for me to try out on Tuesday

@DeFries It seems they are indeed a Norwegian website … http://blog.gitorious.org/2011/02/03/an-update-on-the-sony-dmca-issue/

@DeFries Yeah, but you need to have 20 meetings about it, involving 10 people each time, then pay all those people. Plus paper work

@DeFries Government organisations are slow moving beasts. Best to take the easiest approach to doing things

@DeFries That would probably cost a fortune to implement so is not viable for us.

@DeFries It has some connection to Norway somewhere along the line apparently. I'm not sure of the details.

@DeFries At Metronet we use Beanstalk and for my personal stuff I use GitHub.

@DeFries I'm working for the Norwegian government who don't like using things owned by or hosted outside of Norway.

@milo317 But you could be in sunny Scotland instead? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3039/342293056… … oh, wait … I think you chose the better option

@milo317 I'm guessing you meant to say "week"? In which case have fun wherever it is that you are exploring

@DeFries FYI, that plugin is intended for multi-site use. So site owners can adjust their statistics setup as they see fit.

@DeFries Fishing that plugin out was useful for me. Turns out I had a bug which prevented it working correctly on https.

@DeFries In case it's of any use to you, here's our (kinda simple) custom plugin for it … https://gitorious.org/dss-plugins/dss-statistics

@DeFries We have around 20 sites running on it at the moment, with history going back at least a year. No performance issues I'm aware of.

@DeFries It seems kinda crappy in my experience, but I don't have much to compare it with other than hosted platforms.

@DeFries I'm attempting to use piwik right now actually. I had to write a plugin for it last week. What would you like to know?

@toddhiestand Either well configured VPS, WP Engine or Pagely seem to be the way to go. WP Engine and Pagely are easier. VPS is cheaper.

@DeFries Is there any particular types of content you are looking to have submitted to http://wprealm.com/?

Exciting new blog about WordPress by @DeFries and co. http://wprealm.com/blog/how-wp-realm-began/

@bronsonquick It probably runs much more slowly in Australia too due to the ping time and less bandwidth.

@bronsonquick @JohnONolan I never care about the speed since I'm just checking for CSS bugs usually.

@JohnONolan I never noticed it was so expensive until you mentioned it. My employers pay for it thankfully.

@Mamaduka That's what I would like to do. Figuring out how is where I am stuck.

Sounds like you need http://www.browserstack.com/ @JohnONolan. Native IE6, 7, 8 and 9 without ever having to run your own Windows box

@bronsonquick I'm not a coffee drinker. You are tempting me towards a Coke Zero though.

Head bang #2 for the day … just realised WP_PLUGIN_URL doesn't automatically use https, need to use plugins_url() instead!

@bronsonquick I'd rather break the theme so that people know they messed up.

@bronsonquick I'm still having issues getting my image to save. All I have right now is the uploader, but no ability to stash it's content.

RT @wpmu_dennis: Reading: Set WordPress Featured Image Automatically - http://WPengineer.com: http://bit.ly/NX2bB6

self HEAD SMACK! If at first your code doesn't work, wait 5 seconds for the file to upload.

@bronsonquick OMG, lol! It WAS working, I was just uploading such a large file that it took so long that I assumed it was failing!

@bronsonquick Or maybe I'm missing something obvious which is staring me in the face .. more research necessary.

@bronsonquick Yes, and in it he says that he will need to write another tutorial for adding images etc. as they're more complicated.

@bronsonquick That's also easy. Images are not so simple. Either that or I'm doing something wrong.

@bronsonquick They seem to have used the header and background images. That's easy. I need to create a new custom one unfortunately.

Has anyone out there managed to make use of the image uploader/selector in the new WordPress customizer?
